July 16, 2024 – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo presided over a convention of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) for the 3rd Quarter of CY 2024.
The meeting took place at the CDRRMO Conference Room, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss and plan for potential disasters and emergencies that may affect the city in the coming months.
Mabalacat CDRRMO Chief Jeffrey Santos addressed several agenda items aimed at enhancing the city’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities. Santos presented an array of important updates and reports, including:
1. Climate Outlook and Weather Update (June to November, 2024): Providing vital information on the expected weather patterns and climate conditions for the upcoming months, crucial for anticipating and mitigating potential natural disasters.
2. Preparation for Rainy Season 2024: Highlighting the preparations and measures in place to address the challenges typically associated with the rainy season, such as flooding and landslides.
3. Update Report from Previous LDRRM Council Meeting: Reviewing the outcomes and progress made since the last meeting to ensure continuity and improvement in disaster response strategies.
4. LDRRMO Activities for the 3rd Quarter 2024: Outlining the planned activities and initiatives to be undertaken by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in the following months to enhance city resilience.
5. Other Matters: Discussing any additional issues or concerns relevant to disaster risk reduction and emergency response in Mabalacat city.
Councilor Timothy Dee joined Mayor Cris Garbo at the meeting, expressing his sincere effort in prioritizing the safety and well-being of Mabalaquenians.
