The Angeles City Government issued a stern warning to some sellers of live chicken, ducks, and other birds in Barangay Lourdes Northwest to secure a shipping permit to avoid the spread of bird flu.
Members of the City Veterinary Office, headed by Dr. Christian Xyric Arcilla, and Business Permit and Licensing DIvision personnel, led by Enrico Romero, personally visited the sellers.
They were told that once they couldn’t provide the necessary documents upon the succeeding inspections, the city government will confiscate all the birds.
According to Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., this move of the city government is a preemptive effort to avoid if not eradicate the spread of bird flu in the city.
