The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bataan 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) has recently turned over four new solar-powered water systems to schools in Dinalupihan, Mariveles, Bagac, and Morong towns, marking a significant step in enhancing water accessibility for students and teachers.
The development was highlighted at the inauguration and blessing ceremonies, which were attended by Bataan 3rd District Representative Maria Angela Garcia, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Jett Nisay, Dinalupihan Mayor German Santos Jr., and Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion.
District Engineer Maribel Navarro stated that the newly installed water supply systems, including a 5,000-gallon elevated water tank, a powerhouse facility, and solar panels and apparatus, were set up at Roosevelt Elementary School, Mariveles National High School – Cabcaben Annex, Bagac National High School – Parang, and Morong National High School – Mabayo Annex.
She further emphasized that these energy-efficient systems not only improve water service quality but also ensure reliable and consistent water access, reducing the need for manual collection and enhancing public health by providing clean and potable water.
“Unlike traditional water supply systems, our solar-powered systems offer a significant improvement in accessibility. The large capacity of the elevated water tanks ensures a steady supply of water, greatly enhancing convenience and reliability for all users,” Navarro remarked.
School officials from the four institutions expressed gratitude for the new solar-powered water systems, citing improvements in hygiene, cleaning, and agricultural activities, along with enhanced reliability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and potential savings to support additional school needs.
Also present during the events were local government officials from each municipality and other key personnel from DPWH Bataan 3rd DEO.
