The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo โPogiโ Lazatin Jr., on August 29, 2024, continues the Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project in Barangay Lourdes Northwest.
Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project aims to encourage Angeleรฑo households to practice waste segregation at source, in their own homes, as well as to reduce if not eliminate the use of plastics.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said the city government will collect recyclable plastics from Angeleรฑo households in exchange for rice.
One kilo of recyclable plastics is equivalent to one kilo of rice.
The plastics collected will be made into brick pavers.
Environmental Management System Head Kiko Pangilinan supervised the plastic to rice exchange in the said barangay.
