The Philippine National Police (PNP) is actively collaborating with various government agencies, including the Land Transportation Office (LTO), to identify the owner of a vehicle in which a staggering 1.3 billion pesos worth of shabu (methamphetamine) was discovered. The red Avanza with license plate ZGS-643 was abandoned at a supermarket in Camachiles, Mabalacat City.
Inside the vehicle, authorities found hundreds of kilograms of the alleged shabu, prompting a thorough investigation into the incident.
PNP Chief Benjamin Acordia Jr. emphasized the significance of identifying the registered owner of the vehicle, as it could potentially lead to uncovering the individuals behind the illegal drug operation.
Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo expressed deep concern over the discovery of such a large quantity of shabu. In a statement, he called for the cooperation of the public in combating the further spread of illegal drugs within their city.
Local authorities have reached out to the public for any information that might aid in the ongoing investigation. This incident sheds light on the ongoing battle against the illicit drug trade, underscoring the need for coordinated efforts among law enforcement agencies and communities to eradicate such activities.
The investigation is ongoing, with the PNP and other relevant agencies working diligently to trace the origins of the shabu and identify the individuals responsible for its distribution.
