CSWDO Teams Up with DSWD to Aid 495 Indigent Residents with Financial Assistance

AICS DISTRIBUTION. Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), headed by Edna Duaso, on June 17, 2024 assisted the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the distribution of financial assistance to 495 indigent residents under the Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.

The said AICS program is in coordination with Sen. Pia Cayetano.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. thanked Sen. Cayetano for providing the said assistance to Angeleños.

City Councilor Atty. Arvin Suller represented Mayor Lazatin during the distribution of assistance.

The AICS program is a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis such as illness or death of a family member, and other crisis situations.

ANGELES CITY – Hahalungkatin at titingnan umano ng isang abogado ang pinagmulan ng problema sa 73 ektaryang lupain sa Brgy. Anunas na napasa-kamay ng Clarkhills Properties Corporation.

Sa panayam ng Newsline Central Luzon kay Atty. Darren Canlas kahapon, sinabi nito na sisikapin niya na makakuha ng Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) mula sa Korte para mapahinto ang demolisyon na nagsimula kahapon, September 21, 2023.

Matatandaan na ilang kabahayan na rin ang mga sinira ng demolition team sa naturang lugar na hindi umano naa-aksyunan ang Motion to Quash na inihain ng mga residente sa Department of Agrarian Reform Adjudication Board (DARAB).

Sa paunang ulat, sinabi ni Glen Balatbat Sese, pangulo ng Balubad Homeowners and Residents Association na noong 1992 ay nai-sangla na ang naturang lupain, ngunit sa kabila ng pagkakasangla, nai-pamahagi pa rin sa mga residente taong 1998 sa pamamagitan ng Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA).

Nilinaw naman ni Canlas na bagamat valid ang Writ of Demolition, titingnan din umano ng huli ang legalidad ng mga dokumento na ayon naman sa mga residente ay mga “peke”. Matatandaang una nang nakiusap sa Clarkhills Properties Corporation si Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., sa pansamantalang pagpapatigil sa demolisyon noong nakaraang linggo.

Chinese National woman fatally Shot by motorcycle-riding duo in Angeles City

A Chinese national woman was shot dead by riding in tandem near a subdivision in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Angeles City.

According to the Angeles City PNP, the shooting incident happened at 9:45 in the evening August 25, 2023.

The victim was identified as a businesswoman who owns a store selling motorcycle parts. Her companion, also a female Chinese national was inside the vehicle when the shooting occurred, survived the attack and unharmed.

In the initial investigation conducted by the Angeles City Police, the two suspects were riding a Yamaha Mio Motorcycle. Both were wearing helmets and jackets, concealing their identities.

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the ruthless killing.

As of now, the police reportedly have no leads on the motive for the murder.
